As BIG as it gets

The following posts are some of the greatest machines that exist in the world

Small vs Big

We all know how good it can be, if we can park right beside our job. Once in a while, it just doesn't pay to save a little walk to the job site.

World's largest dump truck

The Caterpillar 797B dump truck is currently the largest in the world. Used primarily in open pit mining, the 797B has a load capacity of 380 tonnes. It is powered by a 117.1 Litre turbocharged diesel engine making 3,550 horsepower. The 797B is 21.5 feet tall, 28 feet wide and 47.7 feet long. It has an empty operating weight of approximately 278 tonnes.

The RH400, the world's largest excavator, weighs in at 1078 tons, and has a face shovel capacity of 94 tons. In other words, it can fill up even the largest mining trucks with 3-5 passes!

World's Largest Digging Machine

* The machine is 95 meters high and 215 meters long (almost 2.5 football fields in length)
* Weight is 45,500 tons (that's equivalent to a bumper to bumper line of jeeps 80 miles long)
* It took 5 years to design and manufacture at a cost of $100 million
* Maximum digging speed is 10 meters per minute
* Can move more than 76,000 cubic meters of coal, rock, and earth per day

World's largest mobile crane

The Mammoet crane, nicknamed "MoMo," looks like what it is - the largest mobile crane in the world. It took 169 tractor-trailers to bring the crane to Montgomery County. It was first used in the United States in Louisiana.
